How to use Kindle Fire from outside the US?

Back in 2011, when iPad had become the leading tablet of the world for the second consecutive year, Amazon launched its own branded tablet named as Amazon Kindle Fire. Kindle Fire is basically powered by Android operating system but Amazon has made its own modifications to the software and it was used as the gateway to Amazon’s digital store.

Kindle Fire – The Cheapest High Quality Tablet in Market!

Kindle Fire was a 7 inch tablet computer and the main selling point of this tablet was its unbelievably low price which was only $200. It still is the one of the cheapest tablet PCs available in the market made by a major manufacturer. That is why it became one of those tablets that gave iPad a very tough competition in the market. In 2012, Amazon upgraded its tablet lineup of Kindle Fire by releasing two new models one with 7 inch screen and other with 8.9 inch screen. Both tablets also got a great feedback from the users and had many new and improved features.

Kindle Fire Preloaded Services Will be Useless Outside the US!

These tablets come with various pre-loadedservices by Amazon including Amazon Prime, Amazon Cloud Storage and Player, Amazon instant video, Amazon App store, Silk browser and Kindle store. Now, you have to keep in mind that most of these services are only limited to the people living in the US. Amazon is an international online store but these services are not available in other countries and if you, by chance, get your hands on a Kindle fire tablet, it will be useless without these services.

There are two vpn products for the Kindle Fire. I like vpnoneclick better.

    1. install featvpn.
    2. go to http://www.vpngate.net/en
    3. Scroll down to the list of the gateways (fastest is listed first)
    4. Touch and hold the OpenVPN Config file and open it in a new tab
    5. Touch and hold the tcp or udp link to open in a new tab
6 Touch the ovpn link, and it will download the file
    7. Configure a tunnel in featvpn using the ovpn file
    8. Start the tunnel
    9. Usually you will connect

    1. Install vpnoneclick. (They have a kindle fire apk on their website)
    2. Start vpnonelick
    3. Select the server you want
    4. You’re (almost always) connected

I use this page to test my connection speeds
